Where Can I Fly from LAX for Under $200 Round Trip?

Short answer: Las Vegas, San Francisco, Phoenix, San Diego, Reno, and Salt Lake City. All have nonstop service from LAX and regularly drop below $200 round trip when you book two to three weeks ahead.

Consistently under $150

Las Vegas ($60-120). The cheapest nonstop from LAX, period. Frontier, Spirit, and Southwest compete aggressively. One hour flight. Fares under $80 round trip are common on Frontier, though baggage fees add up if you're not careful.

San Diego ($70-130). Under an hour. Southwest and Alaska keep this competitive. Sometimes cheaper than the gas and parking for a drive down the 5.

San Francisco ($80-150). Ninety minutes. Alaska, Southwest, United, and Delta all run this route multiple times daily. Midweek bookings consistently come in under $120.

Usually under $200

Phoenix/Scottsdale ($80-180). Ninety minutes. American runs the most nonstops but Southwest and Delta are competitive. Prices spike during peak desert season (January through March) but stay low the rest of the year.

Reno ($90-180). About two hours. Southwest keeps fares low. Great option if you're heading to Tahoe for the weekend.

Salt Lake City ($90-190). Two hours. Multiple carriers compete. Prices stay reasonable year-round, though ski season (December through March) pushes fares toward the higher end.

Sometimes under $200

Denver ($100-250). Two and a half hours. Frontier anchors the budget end. When Frontier runs a sale, round trips drop below $100. Normal pricing is $150-250.

Portland ($100-220). Two and a half hours. Alaska sales can push this under $150. Regular pricing hovers around $150-200.

Seattle ($100-230). Similar to Portland. Watch for Alaska Airlines sales.
