We went with DoubleTree Hotel Albuquerque at $284/night because sometimes the slightly pricier option is the one that makes the whole trip click. There's a pool, which is always a nice surprise for a weekend stay. The food is cheap, excellent, and unlike anything you'll get in California. Hilton Honors members earn points.
